Why We Empower Pharmacy Entrepreneurs

Why do you own a business?

The freedom and opportunity that it creates? The control it gives you over your own life?

One of the reasons I (Dan) wanted to own a business--the whole purpose of why I believe as strongly as I do--is because my dad was an aerospace engineer, and I grew up constantly living in fear of layoffs. I couldn’t stand the thought of somebody else controlling my life like that. I can't bare the idea of someone else having control over whether I succeed or fail.

If you own a business, you control your destiny; you control how big a future you get, and you never have to worry about somebody pulling your pension. And it's all within your control.

We believe in helping pharmacy owners reap the rewards of pharmacy ownership--that's the underpinning of every program and service we've created over the years.

Impact

Business is the great multiplier that allows you to impact the world in a greater way than anything else I know can. Owning a business, you can make such a bigger contribution to the word--to the customers you serve, and to the people in your organization that get to live a better life because of what you created. That's actually a big responsibility, but when I think about the fact that I have 50 people in the 3 businesses that kind of depend on me, it's worth it. Actually, I don't have 50 people; I probably have 120 once you consider their families and everyone else that counts on their income.

Rewards

Not only can you impact other people's lives, but you also impact your own. I've always said that, when it comes to running your own business, there is good news and bad news. The good news is, you're the last one to get fired. The bad news is, you're the last one to get paid. Being able to send your kids to school so they can graduate without debt, take your family on vacation ... those are just 2 more things I can guarantee in my own life by owning a business.

What are yours?

Securing Your Business Against CHANGE

The only thing certainty is death, taxes, and change. I believe that to have the freedom to live your own life, you have to actually take steps to secure that freedom against the changes that undermine it. In pharmacy, the game of business keeps changing. You expend a lot of energy to keep up with the change, but there comes a point in your life where you get too tired to play, so you take your ball and go home.

What if you had a solid team of folks at your side, who specialize in helping you navigate the change, so you and your organization can become more agile? If you had this group of folks, they'd constantly go out and scout the changes, figure out what pharmacies can do to adjust as quickly and easily as possible, and bring those suggestions and strategies right to you. From time to time, you might find yourself so locked into the details of your day-to-day operations that you need a fresh perspective so you can step back, see the changes happen, and adapt.

If you are constantly looking down, you are going to crash.

Anticipate the change, embrace it, and adapt to it. Most people don't; instead, they fight the change and see it as a barrier.

The most successful people are the ones that embrace change and find where the new opportunity lies. It's like solving a puzzle--whoever can figure out the new solution first, wins.

So what would it look like if you had a team that specalized in helping you navigate the change? This team would not only bringing you new perspective, but teach you how to  embrace change and find the biggest opportunities behind every corner?

If you had such a team, you could probably spend less time wasting your energy trying to keep up, and spend more time making a bigger impact in your business and in your personal life.

We are that team to many pharmacy owners. I believe that what we're doing serves a valuable role in society, so we are doubling down our investment into finding for pharmacy owners the best opportunities, strategies, programs, and knowledge out there.

Our core business, you might say, is understanding the fundamental problems most pharmacy owners deal with every day, and helping pharmacy owners solve those problems.

When we keep our stakes high, everybody benefits.
