Even though PDS can provide a ‘quick fix’ to a problem you may have, the real value comes with a long-term commitment. Now, I can walk away and know that things are running at home because our culture and systems are set up in a way that we’re not putting out fires all the time.

Pharmacist, Owner

Care, Clarity and Confidence with PDS

  • RxAnalytics Leads to a Major Turnaround

Faced with a bleak gross margin of 21 percent at his pharmacy stores, Greg started doubting the sustainability of his operations. He questioned how long it could last without a major change. He found his answers through PDS and RxAnalytics. “We weren’t doing any data mining the first three months of the year,” Greg noted.

However, during a Board of Directors meeting where data mining was a major topic of discussion, he began to consider it. After implementing RxAnalytics across his first three stores, Greg was able to make a huge impact — adding 4.8% to his gross margin within a few months, with most of it falling to the bottom line.

  • PDS Provides Lessons in Leadership, Technology

In addition to helping Family Pharmacy increase its profit margins, PDS provided the lessons needed for the team to understand advancing technology and management techniques. “Pharmacy is constantly changing and the tools I have learned over the last eight years have been invaluable,” Greg said. PDS also provided training, including the Advanced Leadership Program, that helped Greg’s son transition from a technician in 2010 to his current role as operations manager. There was an added benefit. Greg had so much confidence in his son’s leadership that he freely stepped away from his store for two weeks, leaving the operations in his son’s hands.
