  • Leveraging Synchronization as a Growth Plan

    Shortly after implementing a synchronization plan, Joe more than doubled the number of patients synched. “While the growth phase can seem painful, I was able to get to a volume where my staff bought into the goals,” says Joe. To facilitate the growth of the program, he had to create a new shift time that was not exactly popular with his staff. The incentive? The faster they hit their goal, the sooner that shift was no longer needed. A little encouragement went a long way as the program continues to keep growing for the pharmacy. Now he no longer needs to keep the high-dollar prescriptions sitting on his shelves. “We can order the product, get it in and out of the door in a timely fashion.” He has a much better flow of inventory and control on his cash flow. “My patients are more satisfied with this structure, and their lives are much easier,” he says.

  • Finding Support through a Strong Peer Network

    Joe also credits his continuing success to his ability to connect with as many pharmacy owners as he can through PDS. “You hear from others on what’s working and see if it might work for you, too.” He picks up many of those ideas during PDS Super-Conference, during one-on-one conversations and on the PDS Message Board. It’s a great resource to help him keep a pulse on everything when he can’t be everywhere, he says. “People are passionate about pharmacy at the conference. You to talk to them and get plenty of new ideas,” Joe says. “I fly from one end of the country to another to go to the show each year. I always come back with something that makes my membership worthwhile.”
